Well, I Am Angry. Are you? -Tilly

Last Tuesday’s results are no surprise.  But they are disheartening nonetheless.  It is frustrating, realizing the Democrats now have the White House, the Senate and the House.  What this means is nothing less than a blatant turn towards liberalism.  We are going to see a Washington push for universal healthcare, a decrease in military spending, an increase in taxes, bigger government, amnesty for illegal immigrants.  The list could go on.  As conservatives, it is right that we are disheartened.  And we should not look at the Democratic takeover and be anything less than angry.  I, for one, am livid.

It angers me to know Obama has promised to sign the Freedom of Choice Act.  This act will eliminate all restrictions on abortion ever passed by any state legislature.  That means a twelve year old will be able to get an abortion without parental consent.  There will be no 48 hour waiting periods and no requirements for abortion doctors to provide information on adoption to women considering abortion.  Thirty-five years of the pro-life movement’s efforts, down the drain.

It angers me to know that Obama proposes policies such as universal healthcare which are socialistic in nature.  And lets be clear, socialism is directly opposed to the foundation of the U.S.  The founders realized humanity’s selfish nature.  They created a system of checks and balances because of this realization.  The theory of socialism is built upon the idea that man is not selfish, but good.  Socialism does not work because its very foundation is flawed.  Our founders realized man’s selfish nature.  Obama does not.  His policies oppose the very foundation of the Constitution.

It angers me when I hear Obama promise to cut military spending and disarm many of our nuclear weapons.  Here again, Obama has too much faith in the goodness of mankind.  His line of thinking says that if we weaken our military, the world will feel less threatened and therefore, be more likely to be friendly with us.  This is preposterous.  This was the same argument levied against Ronald Reagan in his buildup of the military during the 80’s.  Liberals screamed he was just making the world more angry with us, which would lead to war. What happened?  Well, Reagan sent the Soviet Union into bankruptcy and won the Cold War.  The liberals were wrong then and they are wrong now.  Obama’s plan will only make us weaker, giving our enemies more chance to take advantage of us diplomatically, and more likely to threaten militarily.

It angers me to know Obama plans a tax increase, even if it only on the top 5% of Americans.  These are the individuals who own small businesses, who employ numerous individuals.  When these people are given a tax increase, they have less money to pay their employees, which means fewer raises and more layoffs.  This is basic economics.  Our President-elect apparently does not understand it.

We must fight these policies which are being proposed. It is right that we are frustrated and angry that the American people would place the government in the hands of these people. Think about it.  The party now in power is a pro-abortion, socialistic, anti-military, tax-hiking group of liberals.  Doesnt that just infuriate you?

Obama…”Fundamental Flaw of Constitution”…wants “Redistribution of Wealth”

Last night there were audio tapes of Obama released from 2001.  This is from Drudge. Both of these were interviews done with Obama on Chicago radio.  What is unbelievable is how much of a socialist he really sounds.  Its not just a word McCain supporters are throwing around.  He actually sounds like a socialist. Take a listen….

Howard Stern Interviews Obama Supporters

So my sister just sent me this and I was floored.

I didnt know Sarah Palin was going to be Obama’s VP!

Its Not Over – Tilly

For the past couple of weeks, I have been very pessimistic at McCain’s chances.  The economic disaster left McCain as much as 8 points down to Obama in the polls.  There is certainly a lack of excitement among Republicans right now as it seems Obama has all the momentum going into the last two weeks of this campaign.  But I have not lost all hope, there is a glimer, though small, still left.  The past week McCain has been narrowing the gap in the polls.  Rasmussen (the poll I trust most) has it 50-46 and Gallup has it even closer at 49-47. There are a couple of reasons why Obama’s numbers have begun to fall, if only oh so slightly.

First, the ACORN scandal is making a difference.  The very fact Obama had to address this issue in the last debate hurts him.  He HAS been connected to ACORN in the past.  His campaign HAS given close to 1 million dollars to the organization.  If this continues to be a topic of discussion, it will continue to push Obama’s numbers down.  Second, the economy no longer seems as urgent of an issue.  Though the stock market is still somewhat unstable, the conversation about the economic disaster has moved into more of a focus on how Obama and McCain will address the economy in general.  Which, has become a discussion of tax policy.  I believe McCain wins the debate if it is on tax policy.  He has been able to frame Obama’s plan as a “redistribution of wealth” (this is largely because of “Joe the Plumber”).  Americans do not like this idea and if they equate “redistribution of wealth” with Obama, McCain will gain ground.

There is one more issue which the Republicans are going to begin pushing hard this week.  Obama supports driver licenses for illegal immigrants.  Up to this point, this issue has not been brought up.  But if it becomes an issue largely discussed, it will become a problem for the Obama campaign.  This issue could infuriate independents.  Watch this ad that will begin playing in swing states this week… read on…

McCain’s new ad…

The Gloves Are Off

I am stuck in the library researching for my Polisci seminar paper and I got on Drudge to find this video.  McCain knows hes on the road to defeat.  The polls are looking bad.   He finally started to address the Obama, Ayers relationship with this ad.  Its about time.  Hopefully, this can give McCain a boost.  We will see.

James Manning = Hilarious

So, I havent blogged in forever I know.  But with 17 hours of class (including two senior seminar classes) along with work and being a Lifegroup Leader plus having Halo nights in my room way too often, I am finding little time to blog.  All I will say now is McCain is in trouble if the economy is the issue because people perceive Obama will do a better job on the economy. Since the economy is the issue on the forefront right now, Obama is taking the lead in the polls.

Anyway, my parents came to visit today and shared this little video with me and I must say, it is quite entertaining.  enjoy.
