Character in Politics

I have personally found it simply incredible how many politicians have been felled by sex scandels. Governor Spitzer of New York and Governor Sanford of South Carolina are just two and former President Bill Clinton is still trying to construct a legacy for himself that never mentions Monica Lewinsky. A question often asked in politics is whether the character of a person matters when you head to the ballot box on election day. I submit that it must. It is foolish to support a candidate for elected office if they possess poor character.
Dr. Sean Evans, a professor of mine at Union University in the Political Science Department recently published this article in the Jackson Sun, the local newspaper in Jackson, TN addressing this very topic. I encourage you to read it.
